Welcome to St. Joseph School Guidance Page © Created and maintained by Fran Cannon, CCIU Guidance Counselor |
Guidance and counseling services are provided to St. Joseph School through the Non-Public School Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. (For more information about the Chester County Intermediate Unit, visit cciu.org.) Mrs. Fran Cannon is the PA state-certified school counselor assigned to St. Joseph School and has worked here since November, 1987. The guidance program at St. Joseph School includes a variety of services such as individual and small group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, educational screening, and consultation with teachers and parents. Click here for a more detailed description of the program. Parents are welcome to borrow books and other resources from the guidance office. There is a "self-service" parent library located in the CCIU hallway on the second floor above the gym lobby. Click on the link for more detailed information and a complete listing of the books in the parent library. In addition to these resources, there are also many books and videos for parents and children on specific topics such as divorce, death, learning differences, friendship, anger, etc. If you have a specific need, you can contact Mrs. Cannon to request books (or videos) to read with your child or to help you better understand what your child is experiencing. For information about a variety of topics related to child development, parenting, and education, please visit the parent websites page. You can contact Mrs. Cannon by calling 610-269-8675, Monday through Friday, between 8:15 am and 3:45 pm or through e-mail at franc@cciu.org.
